The End of a Wonderful Journey: The Power of Us

After months of collaboration, creativity and friendship, The Power of Us has come to an end.

This project has been much more than a series of activities. It has been a shared journey where students and teachers from different countries have learned from one another, discovered new cultures and worked together to create something meaningful.

Throughout the project, our students have read, debated, designed, created stories, met international friends and reflected on important values such as inclusion, empathy, friendship, responsibility and teamwork. They have shown that diversity is a strength and that everyone can contribute in their own unique way.

To conclude our journey, both students and teachers completed the final evaluation questionnaires, sharing their opinions about the activities and reflecting on everything they had learned. In addition, members of our educational communities left their thoughts, memories and messages in our digital wall "Last impressions" on DigiPad, creating a beautiful collection of reflections that will remain as a lasting memory of this experience.

Finally, students and teachers received their participation certificates, recognising their commitment, creativity and enthusiasm throughout the project.

We are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together.

The Faces of Us – Celebrating Our Values

As our project The Power of Us comes to an end, we wanted to create one final activity that would represent everything we have learned together.

This is how The Faces of Us was born.

Each partner school chose a value that had been explored throughout the project, such as Inclusion, Friendship, Empathy, Respect, Responsibility or Success. Students worked together to create a group photo showing this value through gestures, actions, symbols or messages.

To protect students' identities while adding a creative touch, the photos were transformed into avatars or cartoon characters using Artificial Intelligence. The result is a colourful collection of images that celebrates our diversity and reminds us that, although we come from different countries and cultures, we share the same values.

Every picture tells a story.

Every face represents a message.

And together, they form The Faces of Us.

✨ Different faces. Different countries. One community.

Through this activity, our students discovered that inclusion is not just a word, friendship has no borders, and diversity is what makes us stronger.

This final collage is more than a collection of pictures: it is a symbol of everything we have built together during this wonderful European journey.

📚 Heroes Around Us – International Chain Stories

Heroes Around Us – International Chain Stories

This year, one of the most exciting and meaningful activities of The Power of Us project has been the creation of our collaborative eBook: Heroes Around Us.

Using Book Creator, students from all partner schools worked together to write a single story, chapter by chapter. Each school was responsible for one part of the story, continuing the narrative started by another school and adding new ideas, characters and challenges.

To give the story a common structure and connect it with the values of our project, we followed the word HEROES:

❤️ H – Help
💙 E – Empathy
💚 R – Responsibility
💛 O – Obstacles
🧡 E – Effort
💜 S – Success

Each chapter was written by students from a different country, showing that creativity and collaboration know no borders.

Along the way, students not only wrote in English but also:

• collaborated with classmates,
• continued a story started by others,
• designed illustrations and decorative initials,
• shared ideas and respected different perspectives,
• and discovered that everyone can be a hero in their own way.

This activity has been much more than a writing task. It has been a journey of teamwork, inclusion, creativity and intercultural friendship.

HEROES AROUND US

Twin School Live Hero Quiz

Students have been paired and  took part in a live online quiz on the topic of heroism. Working in international pairs, they answered questions based on the presentations and slides they had previously prepared.

The activity encouraged collaboration, communication, and teamwork while allowing students to share their knowledge in a fun and interactive way. It was a great opportunity to strengthen international friendships and celebrate learning together.

Ekinci Atatürk Secondary School students  were paired with Spanish students  to play an online quiz prepared by them  based on the slides about heroism.

IES Gonzalo Torrente Ballester from Spain, was paired with students from Ekinci Atatürk Secondary School from Türkiye and based on our presentations about A Hero in My Community, we have met online and played together the following quiz.

Polish students created some questions about the heroes from our common presentation. Then we created a quiz using blooket.

 

BLOOKET GAME

 

Kahta BİLSEM and Akıncılar Secondary School students from Adıyaman, Türkiye created a quiz based on the presentations about A Hero in My Community and had an online meeting to play the game with rheir matched peers (Szkola Podstawowa im. A Hero in My Community – Collaborative Digital Poster

In this collaborative activity, students reflected on the idea of heroism by identifying and presenting a hero from their own community. They shared stories of people who inspire others through their courage, kindness, dedication, or positive impact on society.

Working together, students created a digital poster that brought together these inspiring examples from different countries. The final product highlights the diversity of heroes around us and shows that ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference in their communities.

 Creative Activity: Book Cover Design

As a follow-up to our reading of The Lightning Thief, students designed their own book or chapter covers inspired by the story. They created their artwork either by hand or digitally, adding illustrations related to the plot and writing the title in their own language.

This activity celebrated the linguistic and cultural diversity of our international project, showing how the same story can be interpreted and expressed in different ways. The finished covers were shared on a common Padlet, creating an international gallery that showcased our students’ creativity and imagination.

Heroes Around Us

 Heroes Around Us – Mini-Reading and International Debate

Students explored the concept of heroism by reading a short text, either an extract from The Lightning Thief or a story about a local hero, in their own classrooms. After the reading, they identified heroic qualities, moments of courage and kindness, and discussed connections with real-life heroes.

The activity continued in the eTwinning Forum, where students worked in international mixed groups. Each school contributed a discussion question, and students from different countries shared their ideas, exchanged opinions, and reflected together on what it means to be a hero today. Teachers moderated the discussions, encouraging active participation and respectful interaction.
