📸 Project in Action: Evidences of our First Activities Across Our Schools

As our project The Power of Us moves forward, we are happy to share some visual evidence of the first activities carried out by students from our partner schools.

Students from different countries have already been actively involved in:

• creating and commenting on Padlet presentations,

• designing and voting for the project logo,

• interacting with international peers through the ESEP eTwinning forum.

These first activities have helped students connect, express their ideas, and begin working collaboratively in an inclusive and respectful environment. It has been inspiring to see their motivation, creativity, and willingness to participate.

Heroes Around Us

This activity combines reading, reflection, and international collaboration through mini-reading activities, class discussion, and a forum debate.

📖 Mini-Reading Activity

For this activity, all partner schools agreed to work with the same chapter from our common book The Lightning Thief in order to support meaningful international discussion.

We have chosen Chapter 3: “Grover Unexpectedly Loses His Pants”.

In this chapter, Percy begins to discover that the world around him is not what he thought. Grover reveals his true identity, and Percy, his mother, and Grover must act quickly to escape a dangerous situation. The chapter explores key values such as protection, trust, courage, identity, friendship, family, and making decisions in moments of fear.

Students read this chapter in their own classrooms, guided by their teachers. After the reading, teachers help students identify:

• key heroic qualities,

• moments of courage or kindness,

• connections between the story and real-life heroes.

This shared reading prepares students for the next step: international collaboration in mixed groups through the forum debate.

💬 International Forum Debate

After the classroom work, students join international mixed groups created by the teachers and take part in an online debate in the eTwinning Forum:

How it works:

• Each teacher posts one discussion question in the forum (one per school).

• Students from different countries respond in mixed groups, not only with their classmates.

• Teachers moderate and guide the discussion to ensure active participation and respectful communication.

Through this activity, students practise English in a real context, exchange ideas with peers from other countries, and discover how heroism and values are understood across cultures.

This collaborative step marks an important moment in our project, strengthening both learning and connection among our students. ✨

. 🎨 Choosing Our Project Logo

🎨 Choosing Our Project Logo

One of the first collaborative activities of The Power of Us was the creation and selection of a project logo. Since the logo represents the identity and values of our project, students were invited to design 3–5 logos per school, expressing creativity, cooperation, and diversity.

In total, 27 logos were submitted by students from the partner schools. All designs were then shared, and the final logo was chosen through a voting process, involving the whole project community.

After an enthusiastic participation and many creative proposals, the winning logo was selected.
We are proud to present the official logo of our project:

Congratulations to all the students for their fantastic work! This activity was a great example of creativity, teamwork, and active participation, and it gave our project a strong visual identity from the very beginning.
