📘 Our Project Book: The Lightning Thief
For the development of many of the activities in The Power of Us, we have chosen The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan as our common reading.
This novel tells the story of Percy Jackson, a teenager who feels different and struggles at school, but gradually discovers that his differences are also his greatest strengths. Through adventure, friendship, and challenges, the book explores important themes such as identity, inclusion, teamwork, courage, trust, and belonging—all of them closely connected to the aims of our project.
Using a shared book allows our students to:
-
work on the same content in their own classrooms,
-
connect literature with real-life values,
-
and later collaborate in mixed international groups through forum discussions and creative tasks.
To make the reading accessible to all partner schools, the book is available in PDF format and can be accessed in two ways:
-
through our shared Drive, 🔗 The Lightning Thief – PDF (Drive)
-
and directly on the ESEP eTwinning platform, 🔗 The Lightning Thief – PDF (ESEP)
This shared reading will guide our discussions, reflections, and collaborative activities throughout the project, helping students understand that stories can be powerful tools to talk about diversity and inclusion.
More activities based on the book are coming soon — stay tuned! ✨
